Birthday, Bike, and Boys

The 27 year-old with his birthday present. Brandon has been wanting a road bike for a long time and after a lot of research he finally got one. I'm very excited for him and look forward to many family bike rides.
As seen in this picture, I cut Gunner's bangs a little too short. His hair is so thick and wavy so we needed a fresh start...
Brandon (with my approval) buzzed his hair. I love Gunner's new hair-do. It definitely suits his new look as a big brother.

I had to capture this picture of Gunner. He was running around chasing his friends the other night and was "too hot" so the shirt had to come off. I love his sweaty hair and rosy cheeks.

And of course I have to include a picture of little brother. Nash is changing so much every day.

Nash Carlile Winter

Nash arrived on Thursday February 9th, 2012. I was induced but was already dilated to a 4 and contracting before they started me on the pitocin. It was a smooth delivery and I consider myself very lucky with both of my labors. Nash was a big boy at 8 lbs and 12 oz, 19 inches long. He is such a good baby and is the perfect addition to our family.

Snow Days

We've had snow the last few days and by snow I mean less than an inch that melts by lunchtime. But it has been exciting to see new snow each morning when we wake up. Gunner loves playing in it and throwing snow balls at his Mom.

My back was killing me from rolling up that snow ball later in the day. I guess being 37 weeks pregnant has its' side effects.

Grandma and Papa came up on Monday and Gunner loved playing with them.

Christmas Break

We had a wonderful Christmas break but I was terrible at documenting it. Kim took a lot of pictures so I'll have to get more from her. We drove down to Fresno and enjoyed time with the Winter family. We all gained about 5 lbs from eating so many treats. We played games, went to the park a few times, looked at lights on Candy Cane Lane, ate at Inn-n-Out twice, went to the movies, went shopping, and jumped on the trampolines at Skywalk. It was a sunny and relaxing break before the baby arrives in about a month.

Gunner loved taking baths in Grandma's big bath tub.

Testing out his new bike that he got from Grandma and Grandpa.

Great Grandpa Winter is the first Santa that Gunner has actually liked. He still talks about Santa grabbing his piggies (as seen below). When we saw Great Grandpa at dinner the next night in his civilian attire, Gunner said, "Hi Santa." It was very funny and we couldn't believe that he recognized him. Can't get anything past this guy.

And of course we took a trip to feed the ducks at Woodward Park.

2 Years Old!

It was birthday week last week in our family. I turned 25 on the 7th and Gunner turned 2 on the 9th. I was also in charge of our Relief Society Progressive Dinner on the 8th so it was an action packed week. We're very appreciative of all the calls, cards, and presents that were sent our way. I must admit that birthdays and holidays are so much better with kids around! It is easy to get Gunner excited about anything but you can't image how excited he was about balloons, crepe paper, and boxed birthday cake! We just had a little family party for Gunner with a Sesame Street theme. His current favorites are Bert and Ernie. I had everyone wear a bright colored shirt to match a hat with each character. It was a blast and when I asked Brandon what he wanted to do the next day, Gunner chimed in with, "Birthday party!"

Salishan and Story Book Land

We enjoyed our yearly trip to Salishan with Mom and Dad at the beginning of December. The weather was beautiful while we were there. Gunner loved playing at the beach and swimming in the heated pool at the hotel. He definitely takes after his Dad in his fish-like attributes. I'm pretty sure Gunner can hold his breath longer than me!

Chasing the birds with Grandma.

Running from the waves.

Gunner enjoyed eating breakfast in bed.

We also went to Story Book Land. Gunner sped through it pretty fast but he did enjoy the lights and decor.

Still not ready to sit on Santa's lap. Maybe next year

101 Dalmatians is one of his favorites. He often mentions Cruella and the puppies.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Prep

How can you not love that luscious hair and cute little grin in the morning?

We had a great Thanksgiving with Mom and Dad. Brandon had to work during the day so we had fun during the day making forts, raking up Papa's leaves, and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. After dinner we played Pin the Feathers on the Turkey. Gunner loved it! Well he loved when other people put the blind fold on and spun around.

My matching flannel boys.

On Saturday all of my dreams came true- we got a REAL Christmas tree. We went to a U-Cut place and took quite a bit of time to pick out the perfect tree. In the end it was a 6 foot Nordeman.

Brandon feeling manly after cutting down the tree.

Our beautiful tree and reindeer! I love Christmastime!
